We're wanting to set up federation between ourselves and our sister company over the internet. All we need is federation for IM, we don't need A/V or WebCon services.
For our firewall, we currently have open:
Frontend (Internal) --> Edge Server (Perimeter)
443 TCP Bi-Directional
5061 TCP Bi-Directional
Edge Server --> Sister Company Edge Server IP (External)
5061 TCP Bidirectional
We haven't got 4443 from internal to the edge yet (CMS Replication). Is this actually required for IM federation functionality? What are the effects if we don't unblock it?
Are there any other ports we need open, just for IM communication purely? We need to be able to specify all firewall requirements exactly and with justification to our corporate firewall team for them to action the request, hence why I'm asking so specifically.
