Lync Group Chat Installation

I am attempting to install Lync Group Chat but am stuck on the "Server Configuration" peice  I have followed the Technet deployment guide word for word.  However, once I get to the server configuration windows that asks to specify the "Communications Server" settings (at the top of the box it says "settings used to connect to Lync Server 2010"), the host field is greyed out and contains the NetBios name of the Lync front end.  I guess I am supposed to enter the fqdn of the front end pool but I am unable to do so as, again, the field is greyed out.  I do have a certificate with the fqdn of the group chat server and have verified that all looks right with the certificate.  On the same window where the "host" field is greyed out I am able to select this certificate but still cannot change what's in the "host" field.

The Lync front end is installed on a seperate server and Lync clients are able to autoconfigure and connect etc.  I have made sure to create the required service accounts, add them to the propper groups, sip enabled these etc., etc., etc.
